Tunji-Ojo stated, “No one will ever wait for two weeks to get passports again. If you apply and have been captured, you will get your passport within two weeks.” He further informed that the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has successfully cleared all the 204,332 passport application backlogs.

It’s worth noting that this comes after the minister’s directive on September 7, where he gave the NIS a two-week deadline to address and clear all pending passport applications. This move signifies the government’s commitment to enhancing the efficiency of public services and addressing the grievances of citizens promptly.
