Chief Francis was forcefully taken by unknown assailants in the early hours of September 25 and has remained in captivity for 11 days.

The abductors, who arrived at the market in an SUV, subjected him to severe violence before relocating him to an undisclosed location. Up to this point, there has been no communication from them with his family or associates.

Emeka Eze, the chairman of Sokoto market in Onitsha, expressed deep concern over the situation. He noted that fear has gripped chairmen of various markets in the city since Chief Enibe’s abduction. However, Eze mentioned that they have intensified prayers for his safe and immediate release.

He further stated, “We are deeply troubled by our colleague’s captivity. We are fervently praying for his safe return. The release of Nnamdi Kanu is also essential to put an end to these crimes.

The government needs to take action because it indicates a lack of security. The vigilante group alone cannot handle this situation.”
