Impeachment: Legal Counsel For Ondo Assembly Refutes Accusations Of Petition Against Judge.

Emodamori, who was present on behalf of the state assembly and its speaker, Olamide Oladiji, denied the accusation made against him by Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, SAN, the attorney representing the embattled Deputy Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

On September 26, Justice Nwite had issued an interim order restraining the Ondo State assembly and its speaker from impeaching Aiyedatiwa on grounds of alleged gross misconduct. This restraint was to remain in place pending the hearing and determination of an interlocutory application.

The judge’s decision came shortly after Kayode Adewusi, who represented Aiyedatiwa, presented an ex-parte motion with this request.

Additionally, the judge prevented Governor Rotimi Akeredolu from nominating a new deputy governor and submitting the nomination to the lawmakers for approval, citing a letter of resignation purportedly associated with Aiyedatiwa.
