The governor made this request during a meeting held yesterday at the Governor’s Office in Agodi, Ibadan, with the Assistant Inspector-General of Police for Zone 11, Mr. Paul Odama, and his delegation.

Makinde commended the Oyo State Police Command for the effective collaboration among various security agencies in the state, which, he noted, has contributed to making the state one of the most peaceful in Nigeria.

While assuring that the state government would continue to provide support to the Zone 11 Police Command, Makinde acknowledged that due to the state’s large population, extensive land area, and geographical layout, policing could be a substantial undertaking.

He emphasized the state’s commitment to ensuring that the police have the necessary resources to carry out their constitutional duties.

Furthermore, the governor praised the Nigeria Police for their role in upholding and preserving the nation’s democracy, emphasizing that democracy has firmly established itself in the country.
