In a video shared on his official Instagram account on Wednesday, the comedic actor revealed that he has been unwell for an extended period and hinted at the possibility of amputation of his legs.

“For several weeks, I’ve been battling an illness, and I’m relying on your prayers and support. As I address you now, I’m still confined to the hospital.

The medical director of this facility has mentioned that, if his new approach doesn’t yield results, the only option left might be amputating my legs.

If I lose my legs, where will I go from here? Please pray for me; talk to the Almighty. I do not wish to lose my legs. Thank you, and God bless you,” Mr. Ibu conveyed.

In the same video, Okafor’s wife and daughter joined in appealing to the public. They shared that the actor has been unwell for the past two weeks and, although they initially attempted to manage the situation independently, he has not shown signs of improvement.

“Personally, I have been trying to cover the medical expenses, thinking that it was something I could manage alone. My mother is in the hospital, the children are at home. We believed we could handle it on our own and that he would recover, but his condition is not improving. We are currently at one of the finest private hospitals in Lagos.

This is not the first time that my father has been ill. He has experienced periods of illness, followed by recovery, several times.

However, if he is not making progress at one of the top private hospitals in Lagos, we believe we need to rally together and, if possible, arrange for him to receive medical treatment abroad. As a father, he has been resilient and is fighting hard. He desires to continue living,” they emphasized.
