Addressing the issue in Abuja on Thursday, Bagudu expressed his concern that the Federal Government is facing difficulties in meeting payroll obligations due to financial constraints.
He called upon non-governmental organizations to assist the government in areas where it faces limitations.
Bagudu further lamented the rapid increase in Nigeria’s population, pointing out the concurrent rise in unemployment alongside high inflation rates.
In his words, “The government is currently confronted with significant challenges. There is a revenue deficit, and financial resources are scarce. The government is barely managing to cover salary payments. Economic growth is sluggish, while the population is rapidly expanding. Unemployment is on the rise, and inflation remains high.”
This situation unfolds in the context of reports indicating that Tinubu has approved a wage increase of N35,000 for all federal civil servants.
