The Governor emphasized that these executive orders were put in place to provide a legal framework for his administration’s initiatives in the fields of solid minerals and tourism.

These actions reflect the government’s dedication to advancing its economic expansion agenda through the development of tourism and the solid mineral sector.

Governor Makinde stated, “Although mining activity falls under the exclusive legislative list, the state government has chosen to take proactive steps to ensure the adequate protection of mining communities from security risks and exploitation, as well as the associated environmental concerns.”

He further emphasized the necessity of addressing security challenges that have arisen within these mining communities.

The second executive order pertains to the establishment of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. According to the Governor, culture and tourism play a pivotal role in the state’s roadmap for sustainable development from 2023 to 2027.
