This fund will also encompass other related expenses and entitlements, providing a much-needed respite for the families of the valiant heroes of the Nigerian Armed Forces.

The announcement came on Wednesday, as President Tinubu launched the Emblem Appeal Fund for the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day. The launch, held at the State House in Abuja, was a solemn reminder of the sacrifices made by the nation’s military personnel.

Reaffirming his administration’s dedication to the country’s defense forces, President Tinubu said, “We owe a debt of gratitude to our gallant troops, who have risen to the challenge of securing this great nation.” He further emphasized the nation’s commitment to their welfare by stating, “In appreciation of the sacrifices of the men and women of our Armed Forces and to underscore this government’s commitment to their well-being, I have approved the sum of N18 billion for the payment of the Group Life Assurance benefits and other entitlements to the families of service members who lost their lives in the line of duty.” CONTINUE READING
