It’s worth recalling that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared President Bola Tinubu as the winner of the February 25th election.

However, Atiku, along with his running mate, Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), contested the election results in court, experiencing defeats at both the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal and the highest court in the land.

In response to the Supreme Court’s ruling, Ganduje, on the day of the court’s decision, taunted Atiku by suggesting that he would need to wait until 2031, as Tinubu, who had yet to complete a year in office, would serve two terms.

Surprisingly, at the wedding of Ambassador Iliya Damagum’s daughter, who was serving as the acting National Chairman of the PDP, held at the National Mosque in Abuja, both Ganduje and Atiku temporarily put aside their political differences.

Photos from the event captured the two leaders seated next to each other, exchanging greetings and handshakes, while other prominent figures from the two major political parties in attendance also engaged in friendly interactions.
