Fubara firmly maintained that he has not engaged in any wrongdoing that would justify impeachment by the Rivers State House of Assembly.

He addressed his supporters at the Assembly Complex in Port Harcourt, assuring the state’s citizens of receiving the benefits of democracy.

“Let them come forward and explain to the people of Rivers the transgressions I have committed that would warrant impeachment.

I want to reassure the people of Rivers that I will continue to work to ensure that you enjoy the advantages of democracy. In due course, I will address the media,” he stated.

There have been reports of a looming impeachment process against Fubara following the removal of Edison Ehie from his role as the House leader.

The ensuing crisis within the House prompted members to seek safety as tear gas was deployed outside the Complex.
