The grounds for this action are based on Wike’s alleged involvement in a conspiracy to impeach Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
The petition, which reportedly received acknowledgment and approval from the Green Chamber during its plenary session on Tuesday, demands a comprehensive examination into the roles played by security agencies.
particularly the Nigerian Police Force personnel who were purportedly involved in an attempted assassination of the governor.
Dated October 30, 2023, the petition is directed to the Deputy Spokesman of the House, Philip Agbese.
It also expresses strong disapproval of the unjust suspension of members of the Rivers State House of Assembly and the malicious act of setting the State Assembly Complex ablaze, allegedly orchestrated by anti-Fubara groups within the state.
The group behind the petition firmly condemns the efforts of certain House members to initiate Fubara’s impeachment, characterizing such attempts as lacking a factual basis and merely aimed at obstructing the governor’s pursuit of development projects for the state.
