Gajam accused Matawalle of offering sanctuary to bandits, expressing his deep concern.
He expressed his dismay at the fact that there has never been a time in the state’s history when a leader provided refuge to individuals who have committed heinous crimes such as murder and rape without any hesitation.
Furthermore, the commissioner revealed that the former governor neglected the maintenance of vehicles purchased by the Federal Government for his administration, resulting in the vehicles being in a state of disrepair when the current administration assumed office.
In his words, “The enduring legacy of the previous governor is his provision of Hilux vehicles to bandits, as evidenced.
He harbored bandits at the Government House, even during turbulent times. It is unprecedented for an emir or king to offer sanctuary to individuals who have committed such crimes, including kidnapping and rape, without hesitation. Can we expect these individuals to sit at the same table with us?”
