Speaking in Nsukka on Monday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Onyeze commented on Utazi’s resignation from the PDP, suggesting that Utazi may have had grievances against the party based on the content of his resignation letter to his ward chairman.

Onyeze mentioned that the party would initiate contact with Utazi to explore the possibility of resolving these grievances.

He emphasized that misunderstandings can arise within any organization, including political parties, and most issues can be amicably resolved through discussion.

Utazi, who had served as the Senator representing Enugu North Senatorial District from 2015 to 2023, resigned from the PDP in a letter dated October 25, addressed to Chief Rob Ezeagu, the Chairman of the PDP in his Nkpologu Ward, Uzo Uwani LGA.

In his resignation letter, Utazi cited his departure from the party, explaining that the ideals that initially drew him to the PDP in 1998 had faded into obscurity.

He further stated his intention to seek another political party that would provide him with a more extensive platform for making significant contributions to national development.

Utazi confirmed his resignation, acknowledging that he had notified the PDP’s National Headquarters in Abuja.

However, he mentioned that he had not yet joined any other political party, but he would inform the public once he makes that decision.
