Speaking to the press in Owerri about the upcoming Saturday’s gubernatorial election, Senator Anyanwu shared his insights into the sentiments of the people gathered during his campaign across Imo State’s 27 local government areas.
Senator Anyanwu pointed out that the current administration had misled Imo residents regarding federal and state-owned roads, lamenting the adverse impact on the population.
He highlighted the severe challenges faced by the people, including unpaid workers, pensioners falsely labeled as ghost workers, and inadequate infrastructure in institutions like Imo State University (IMSU).
According to him, the governance under Governor Uzodimma’s tenure had left Imo known for negativity, and the residents yearned for a leader who would truly engage with them.
During his campaign, Senator Anyanwu noted the people’s desire for a governor who would be present, attentive, and responsive to their needs.
He expressed his commitment to implementing a community guard initiative that would empower approximately 13,000 youths to enhance community security.
Additionally, he pledged to create more job opportunities by conducting local government elections, thereby empowering over 1,000 individuals.
Senator Anyanwu concluded by emphasizing the dire need to revive local government areas, which have suffered from neglect under the current government.
