Katsina Government Warns Of Legal Consequences For Violating Night Gathering Ban

The declaration was issued by the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Malam Bala Salisu-Zango, in a statement disclosed to the media on Saturday in Katsina.
He specified, “This prohibition encompasses sizable religious and social gatherings in public, except for obligatory prayers.” Nevertheless, he added that for daytime gatherings, consent must be secured.
“In instances where such assemblies are necessary, permission must be requested from the Police Divisional Officer in the respective local government area where the gathering is scheduled to take place.
This announcement is in the paramount interest of public safety,” he emphasized.
The commissioner emphasized the immediate enforcement of the ban, urging the public to adhere strictly to the directives. Violators, he warned, would be subjected to legal consequences.
