The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate emerged victorious in the November 11 election, securing a total of 446,237 votes.
In a statement released in Lokoja, the state capital, Awoniyi expressed his felicitations, emphasizing that Ododo’s win is a clear demonstration of hard work, dedication, and the trust placed in the Governor-Elect by the people of Kogi State.
The APC candidate triumphed over his closest competitor, Murtala Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), who garnered 259,052 votes. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Dino Melaye, trailed behind with 46,362 votes.
Awoniyi also commended Governor Yahaya Bello, the leader of the APC, for steering the party to victory and noted the evident realization of the call for a violence-free election.
