Last week, the state government declared Friday a public holiday to allow citizens to travel to their respective registration areas for voting on Saturday.

INEC had initially announced results for six out of the eight local government areas on Sunday night, stating that the declaration of results for Sagbama and Southern Ijaw local government areas would resume at 12:00 noon on Monday.

It’s worth noting that election materials destined for Sagbama LGA were lost in a boat mishap along the Amassoma-Sagbama river on Friday night.

However, in keeping with its commitment, INEC swiftly organized and dispatched another set of voting materials to the area, ensuring that the election proceeded as originally scheduled.
