The Commission refuted alleged smear campaigns in the media, asserting that despite the temporary suspension of NIN enrollment at FEP centers during the revalidation exercise, operations continue at local government and state offices.
In a statement from Abuja, NIMC dismissed reports suggesting that outstanding debts to FEPs pose a threat to the National ID card project, labeling them as sponsored attacks aimed at tarnishing the image of its Acting Director General/CEO, Abisoye Coker-Odusote.
The statement, signed by Ayodele Babalola, Special Adviser on Media to NIMC’s Acting Director General, expressed concern over three distinct newspapers publishing similar content, deeming it a coordinated effort to discredit NIMC and its leadership.
