Dr. Dele Alake, the Minister of Solid Mineral Development, spearheaded the launch at an event organized by the African Centre for Leadership.
Strategy, and Development (Centre LSD), in collaboration with the Ministry of Solid Mineral Development and the Ford Foundation, held in Abuja on Friday.
During the launch, the Minister emphasized the government’s dedication to ensuring that host communities receive optimal benefits from mining operations, contributing to both local and national economic development.
He highlighted that the Community Development Agreement (CDA) is a statutory provision designed to facilitate the transfer of socio-economic benefits to mining host communities.
Describing it as a legal document, the Minister noted that the CDA outlines the mutual obligations between the Mineral Title Holder (MTH) and the host community.
