The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, has raised concerns about Simon Ekpa, a self-proclaimed Biafra agitator, accusing him of sabotaging the efforts of security forces in the Southeast. General Musa, along with other Service Chiefs and the Inspector General of Police, addressed the House of Representatives on Tuesday, November 21.

General Musa stated, “Simon Ekpa is sabotaging our efforts in the Southeast,” pointing to Ekpa’s alleged financial support to armed groups enforcing the sit-at-home order in the aftermath of Nnamdi Kanu’s arrest. Musa called on the Federal Government to engage in diplomatic dialogue with Finland, where Ekpa is believed to be residing, and invited the Finnish ambassador to Nigeria to address concerns surrounding Ekpa’s activities.

While acknowledging the military and security agencies’ efforts in maintaining peace in the Southeast, General Musa expressed concern that Ekpa’s comments and actions were undermining these efforts.
