Addressing the House of Representatives on Tuesday, Musa stated, “Simon Ekpa is sabotaging our efforts in the Southeast,” emphasizing that the agitator was utilizing Finland as a protective shield.

Nevertheless, Ambassador Okey Emuchay, the Secretary General of Ohanaeze, expressed support for Musa’s position in a statement given on Wednesday during an interview with Punch Newspaper.

Emuchay highlighted the growing security concerns in the Southeast due to the imposed lockdown by the factional leader of the proscribed separatist group Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

He conveyed concern about the security situation in the region and emphasized that it is a matter for the Federal Government of Nigeria to address, as Ohanaeze and the Southeastern states are subordinate to the federal authority.

Emuchay underscored the importance of activating diplomatic channels between the Federal Government and Finland, pointing out that Finland has an embassy in Abuja.

Ohanaeze appreciates the public declaration made by the Chief of Defence Staff on the issue of Simon Ekpa and expresses satisfaction with it.
