In a statement released on Thursday by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, it was emphasized that Ambassador Akawor.
representing Rivers State, is being appointed in the wake of the untimely passing of the immediate past commissioner from the state, Hon. Asondu Wenah Temple, earlier this month.
Ambassador Akawor has previously held prominent roles in public service, including serving as Nigeria’s Ambassador to South Korea, Minister of State of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT),
Sole Administrator of the Greater Port Harcourt Development Authority, CEO of the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority, and Executive Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (Engineering & Technical Services).
The President has tasked the newly appointed commissioner to utilize his extensive experience in various governmental capacities to spearhead a comprehensive reform that ensures the optimal and productive allocation of resources to all three tiers of government.
