Gbajabiamila emphasized ongoing efforts to launch the scheme by January 2024, providing Nigerian students with the means to finance their educational pursuits.

Speaking in Lagos during the 35th convocation ceremony of Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), where he delivered a lecture titled “Empowering Nigerian Youths in the Present Day Economy,” Gbajabiamila outlined the system’s design.

He stated that the application process, verification, and crediting will all be conducted online based on verifiable documents and credentials submitted by applicants.

To ensure a fair and accessible process, Gbajabiamila emphasized, “No personal connections will be required for loan qualification, ensuring that access to this financing will be genuinely equitable.”

President Tinubu recently signed the Student Loan Bill into law, assuring that no student would be forced to leave tertiary institutions due to fee payment challenges.

Tinubu pledged to provide educational institutions with the necessary resources to fulfill their responsibilities.
