The President engaged in extensive negotiations with the Deputy Governor, representatives of Governor Akeredolu, federal and state lawmakers, APC officials, and other stakeholders from Ondo at the State House in Abuja on Friday.

Following the discussions, the President urged all conflicting parties to reconcile and prioritize peace, securing commitments to this effect. Consequently, Governor Akeredolu retains his position as Chief Executive of the State, Deputy Governor Aiyedatiwa remains in office, and members of the State Executive Council continue their respective duties.

The leadership of the State’s House of Assembly and the APC Chapter in Ondo State also remains unchanged.

Deputy Governor Aiyedatiwa, expressing his commitment to unity, stated, “I pledge to embrace every one of you and put behind all that has happened before now.

I’ve let go and also let God, just as the President has advised us.” He emphasized the need for mutual respect among all members of the State Executive Council and pledged to work collaboratively with the Governor.

The Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Oladiji Olamide, presented the resolution, highlighting the commitment to peace, the preservation of the cabinet, the maintenance of the status quo in the House of Assembly and party leadership, as well as adherence to the President’s guidance.

Secretary to the State Government, Princess Oladunni Odu, expressed gratitude to the President for settling the discord in Ondo State, promising that the united party would not disappoint him.

The Ondo State APC Chairman, Ade Adetimehin, applauded the outcome of the deliberations, assuring that the party would act as a watchdog to ensure the fulfillment of the new commitments.
