This declaration was made on Tuesday during the inaugural session of the 2023 National Engineering Conference in Abuja, where the theme centered on “Re-engineering the Manufacturing Sector for Competitiveness and Enhanced Economic Growth.”

Akpabio emphasized that successful infrastructure development in the manufacturing industry relied on sound legislation and regulations conducive to growth.

Represented by Mr. Ike Ugwuegede at the ceremony, Akpabio conveyed the 10th National Assembly’s desire for the NSE to partner with relevant House and Senate Committees to hasten the reengineering of the country’s manufacturing sector.

He stressed the need to streamline democratic processes, reduce bureaucratic hurdles, and provide incentives for local production and entrepreneurship.

Additionally, Akpabio highlighted the importance of promoting sustainable practices, fostering local content development, and safeguarding intellectual property rights through the implementation of favorable policies.
