In a somber development, the former governor of Anambra State, Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife, has passed away. The announcement came through a statement issued by Chief Rob Ezeife on behalf of the Ezeife Dynasty of Igbo-Ukwu, revealing that the distinguished statesman breathed his last at the Federal Medical Centre, Abuja, yesterday. Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife served as the governor of Anambra State from January 1992 to November 1993, leaving an indelible mark on the political landscape of the state. A man of many roles, he also held positions as a Federal Permanent Secretary, Political Adviser to the President, and a Presidential aspirant during his illustrious career.
The statement expressed the family’s sorrow, stating, “On behalf of the Ezeife Dynasty of Igbo-Ukwu, I wish to announce the promotion to glory of our most distinguished son, ‘Okwadike’, Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife, CON.” The sad event occurred at 6 p.m. at the Federal Medical Centre, Abuja.
