Following revelations of corruption within the Humanitarian ministry, involving substantial funds transferred to various bank accounts, Sani urged President Tinubu to ensure a thorough recovery of these funds. The ongoing investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) into the alleged misappropriation under former minister Sadiya Umar-Farouk underscores the urgency of addressing financial malfeasance.

Sani’s tweets also acknowledged the disheartening news from the CBN, where a special investigator appointed by Tinubu exposed corruption during the tenure of former Governor Godwin Emefiele. Sani emphasized the need for transparent and unwavering efforts in recovering the misappropriated funds.

He tweeted, “President Tinubu should recover money looted from the CBN and the one looted from the Humanitarian ministry under the Buhari ‘integrity’ administration and specifically use it to fund the budget of our public Universities, Polytechnics, COEs, and Federal Government Colleges.” CONTINUE READING

“The CBN special investigation is a commendable job by this administration. But,it must not be suppressed or killed by political Pressures,Correctness considerations or party solidarity. It must not be kept to dust out of fear of political, regional, religious or ethnic blackmail or backlash It must not end up in hollow public outrage It must not just be for the media hype that will eventually fade It must not target some culprits and spare others for political convenience. The courage to start and conduct the investigation should be followed by the will to sanctions those involved and recover Nigeria’s collective plundered wealth.”

As the tweets circulate on social media, they resonate with calls for accountability and transparency in handling cases of corruption within government institutions. The public’s attention is drawn to the importance of recovering plundered national wealth and redirecting it towards crucial sectors like education.
