Prominent APC Leader Gololo Urges Authorities To Detain Buhari’s Minister Facing Indictment

Dr. Garus Haruna Gololo made these remarks during a press conference held in Abuja. He emphasized the need for security and anti-corruption agencies to scrutinize the actions of former aides to the ex-president who have been implicated in the case involving the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele.
Gololo’s plea for the trial of Buhari’s aides linked to Emefiele was prompted by the position taken by the Human Rights Writers’ Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) regarding allegations of financial impropriety against the former CBN governor.
HURIWA’s national coordinator, Emmanuel Onwubiko, had criticized the reported approval for the redesign of the naira, attributing it to former Buhari aide Sabiu Tunde ‘Yusuf,’ rather than Buhari himself.
In response, Gololo questioned why Sabiu had not been invited for questioning by the EFCC or DSS if Emefiele was undergoing prosecution. He urged accountability for Sabiu’s role in the currency redesign.
Gololo extended the call for investigation to former ministers, including those responsible for finance, humanitarian affairs, aviation, transportation, and others. He emphasized the need to scrutinize their financial dealings during their time in office.
