He expressed hope that the elections will be fair and free the next year. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has disclosed his source of income, claiming he inherited a sizable amount of real estate in Lagos.

On Tuesday, December 6, 2022, Tinubu talked while being filmed by our correspondent for BBC Africa.

The former governor of Lagos state claimed to be the only competent candidate for the presidency of the nation in 2023 and added that none of the leading candidates had the qualifications to challenge him in the upcoming elections.

“Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar are not competent,” he declared. They lack the level of proficiency that anyone else does. They have no track record, and only one of them is qualified.

Tinubu remarked:

“Everything is going really well. I have a great deal of faith that this election will be fair and free. I’m getting a lot of arrows because I’m in the lead.

“Security and economic recovery are my main priority in order to speed growth, create jobs for Nigerians, and bring down inflation,” he said. You are aware that monetary policy requires modification. It is necessary to choose a subsidy and then eliminate it.

“Nigeria’s level of security has actually decreased, and I will defend Buhari for that. Then there were 17 local and roughly 4 state flags of foreign jihadists in Nigeria. That’s long gone; it’s not there anymore.

“I’m distinctive. Bola Ahmed Tinubu here. I was Lagos’ mayor. I created a modern state that is capable of standing alone as a nation. I oversaw a conservative administration that increased domestically produced revenue from N600 million to N5 billion per month.

He stated, when asked where he got his money, “I have an example of Warren Buffett, one of the richest men in the world, he started from stock purchasing and brokerages. Excellent real estate was left to me. I reversed the values. I don’t downplay my money.

“Up until, you know, for eight years, up until 2007, and since I’ve left the government, I was the most probed and the most blamed Governor in opposition. I’m still there and haven’t accepted any appointments with the government. no contracts with the government

“I don’t receive a revenue share from Lagos. The record in Lagos has been looked into by the World Bank and IMF.
