The suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Betta Edu, faced a denial of access to President Tinubu on Monday afternoon, January 8. CONTINUE READING
TVC reported that Edu attempted to meet with the President after her suspension was sanctioned but was refused access. A video circulating online captures her vehicle departing after the denial.
This afternoon, the President approved Edu’s suspension and instructed the Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to conduct a comprehensive investigation into all financial transactions involving the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, as well as associated agencies.
The 37-year-old Minister is under scrutiny for allegedly approving the disbursement of N585,198,500.00 into a personal account.
