Represented by his Special Adviser on Political Matters, Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, Shettima emphasized that the move is in the best interest of the Nigerian people. He made these remarks on Saturday during the 10th Annual Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Lecture held in Maiduguri, Borno State, where he served as the Special Guest of Honour.

The event, themed “Creating Pathways for Peace: Tackling Banditry and Insurgency through Good Governance for Sustainable Development in Nigeria,” provided a platform for Shettima to address the concerns surrounding the relocation decision.

Shettima assured the public, particularly the people of the North, that the current administration led by Bola Tinubu is committed to policies that benefit all Nigerians. He stressed that the government will not adopt any policy or decision that favors a specific region at the expense of others.

In addressing the opposition to the relocation of certain CBN and FAAN units from Abuja to Lagos, the Vice President urged detractors to reconsider their stance. He cautioned against viewing the move as sectional, emphasizing that it is intended to serve the overall welfare of the nation.

Shettima firmly stated that those opposing the relocation are engaging in mischief, and he called for their cessation from such activities. The Vice President affirmed the administration’s dedication to inclusive policies that contribute to the development and well-being of the entire nation.
