In a series of tweets on Monday via his X account, the governor also extends congratulations to William Troost-Ekong for clinching the Player of the Tournament award.
“A profoundly disheartening defeat for the Super Eagles. They exhibited utmost dedication throughout this tournament, but ultimately fell short by narrow margins,” the governor tweeted.
“Throughout the tournament, we brought together thousands of individuals to revel in football across 25 viewing centers as our team carried the aspirations and aspirations of the nation.
“Whether in victory or defeat, this team has brought honor to us, and we will look back on this AFCON as a unifying force that united us all.
“Kudos to William Troost-Ekong for earning the title of AFCON Player of the Tournament.
“Bravo to our champions, let’s regroup and strive again.
