This announcement was communicated via NiMET’s official platform on Wednesday, sparking concerns among residents regarding the prolonged duration of the scorching heat and its potential effects on daily life and health.

In its update, NiMET not only affirmed the persistence of high temperatures but also highlighted the potential consequences of this weather pattern.

The agency took proactive steps to provide essential guidance to the public on effectively managing the situation amid the rising temperatures.

NiMET stated, “Air temperatures have soared to 41°C in the North and 39°C in the South, with model projections indicating sustained high temperatures in the upcoming days.

“IMPLICATIONS:

“Dehydration: This may lead to fainting; chickenpox disease, measles, heat rash, weakness of the body, slight fever, and dry lips; Heat-related illnesses; Respiratory Issues; and increased vulnerability to chronic conditions.

“ADVISORIES:

“Ensure adequate fluid intake. Seek shade, utilize fans, and opt for light, breathable clothing to minimize exposure to high temperatures.

“Avoid strenuous physical activities during peak heat hours (Stay indoors as much as possible between 12:00 noon and 4:00 pm).”
