The victim, identified as Nwoga Maduabuchi from Akparata village, Igbeagu community in the Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, was married to the suspect, his second wife, hailing from Uburu community in the Ohaozara Local Government Area. The couple resided in Abakaliki, the state capital.

According to sources, the tragic incident unfolded during a heated argument between the victim and his second wife over a family matter. The disagreement escalated, leading to the wife allegedly pushing her husband, resulting in his fatal fall.

A security officer, speaking anonymously, labeled the incident as a case of domestic violence, describing the man as a mere victim. The first wife hailed from Izzi Local Government Area, while the second, now the suspect, was from Uburu. The officer condemned the act, referring to it as the “height of wickedness.”

Additional information from another source revealed that the suspect, who was heavily pregnant, had been engaged in frequent quarrels with her late husband, noting that she was consistently “constantly nagging.”

As of now, the state police command has not released any official statement regarding the incident. The community remains in shock over this tragic episode, highlighting the urgency of addressing domestic violence issues and promoting family harmony.
