The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has announced its intention to deactivate more than 42 million inactive phone lines. This decision aims to streamline and optimize the country’s telecommunications network. The move comes as a response to the increasing concerns regarding the reselling of previously purchased SIM cards by major telecom operators, including MTN, GLO, Airtel, and others.
The House of Representatives has issued a warning to these telecom giants, cautioning them against the unauthorized reselling of SIM cards that have already been bought by consumers. This action is part of broader efforts to maintain the integrity of the country’s communication infrastructure and ensure fair business practices within the telecommunications industry.
