Obasanjo urged Nigerians to remain resilient in the face of prevailing circumstances, asserting that tough times call for steadfast action. He encouraged citizens to turn to God for guidance, reassuring them that economic hardships and food shortages are not permanent.

He stated, “In times of adversity, resilience is key. No problem is insurmountable, and no hardship lasts forever. Taking one’s own life is not a solution; instead, confront challenges and seek divine intervention.”

Obasanjo further advised examining how others have overcome similar hurdles, citing Zimbabwe as a recent example of a nation grappling with rampant inflation. He suggested reaching out to Zimbabwe for insights, even if Nigeria’s approach would inevitably differ.

“We are currently facing the challenge of skyrocketing inflation, but are we alone in this struggle? No, we’re not. Zimbabwe experienced a similar crisis not too long ago. Shouldn’t we inquire about their strategies for addressing it, even if our methods will vary? We can learn from their experiences to chart our own course,” Obasanjo remarked.
