Omokri emphasized that all three major 2023 presidential candidates, including Tinubu, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), had pledged to eliminate the petrol subsidy. He defended the move, stating that it demonstrated intellectual honesty and contributed to positive developments, such as a more than 50% reduction in fuel importation and an 8% increase in local refining.

Responding to claims by Farotimi of the Labour Party about the state of Nigeria, Omokri asserted that the country is making progress and urged unity and support for the nation. He emphasized the existence of the rule of law in Nigeria, citing the removal of Humanitarian Affairs Minister Betta Edu due to fraud allegations as evidence.

In addressing concerns about impunity, Omokri acknowledged its presence worldwide but urged a focus on practical solutions that work. He expressed optimism for future reforms, citing the Oronsaye Report’s recommendations for reducing government overhead, advocating for state police, devolution of powers, implementing the Uwais Report on INEC, and promoting made-in-Nigeria initiatives.

Omokri concluded by urging collective efforts to support Nigeria’s development, emphasizing that political differences should not hinder progress.
