Hunters successfully rescued Galadima Danladi Tau, the district head of Lau town in Ardo-Kola local government area of Taraba State, from the clutches of kidnappers, according to reports. The abductors had raided the district head’s palace on Saturday night, prompting local hunters to respond swiftly. Mobilizing, they tracked down the kidnappers to their hideout, engaged in a confrontation, and managed to overpower the criminals, ensuring the safe release of the traditional ruler.

During the rescue operation, Galadima Danladi Tau sustained injuries. Following the successful retrieval, the kidnappers retaliated by launching an attack on the town. In a prolonged and intense encounter, the local hunters valiantly repelled the assault, safeguarding the community.

Residents, such as Nuhu Tau, revealed that Lau and nearby villages have long struggled with banditry. The effective defense against the attackers was credited to the joint efforts of hunters and vigilantes, who had previously cleared the area of bandits. In a bid to bolster security, soldiers have been deployed to the region, reinforcing safety and stability.

Usman Abdullahi, the police spokesman in Taraba State, confirmed the incident and assured the public that normalcy has been restored to the area.
