Court Restricted Two-Week Communication Between Husband And Wife....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

A 43-year-old man, Chibike Nwakedi, has been ordered by a Chief Magistrate court in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, not to have any communication with his wife, Blessing, for a period of two weeks until their next court appearance. Chief Magistrate Dolamu Babalogbon specified that the defendant is prohibited from speaking directly to his wife, whether in person or on the phone, and must communicate only through a third party, such as her lawyer.

The court’s decision came after police prosecutor Inspector Sodiq Adeniyi informed the court during the arraignment that on March 3, at around 20:00 hours in Ado-Ekiti, Chibike Nwakedi allegedly assaulted his wife, causing her right leg to dislocate by hitting it against a wooden bed. Adeniyi argued that the defendant’s actions were likely to lead to a breach of peace.

The charges against Nwakedi were filed under Sections 186 and 181(D) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State 2021. In response, the defendant’s counsel, Barrister Gbenga Ariyibi, sought bail for his client, assuring the court that Nwakedi would not evade bail and would provide a credible surety.

Chief Magistrate Dolamu Babalogbon granted bail to Nwakedi in the sum of N50,000, with two sureties required to provide a similar amount. The case has been adjourned until March 28 for further hearing.
