The Kwara Police Command has apprehended three suspects in connection with the gruesome discovery of the dismembered corpse of a tricycle operator, Musibau Aliu, in an unfinished building in Oko-Olowo area, Ilorin. Aliu had been reported missing by his family, and his body, found on Sunday after days of searching, revealed severe mutilation, including the removal of his head, two wrists, private part, and buttocks.
According to sources, the owner of the building reported the matter to the Nigeria Police station, Oloje, when he came to carry out repairs. Mallam Gafari Imam, the chairman of the tricycle park where Aliu operated, confirmed the incident, stating that the family and colleagues reported Aliu missing on Saturday morning. A prayer was held at the family house for divine intervention, expressing shock at the unprecedented nature of the crime.
The police have detained the building owner and one of the deceased’s friends in connection with the murder, as confirmed by Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, the spokesperson of the Kwara Police Command. She disclosed that three suspects were arrested, identified as Abdullahi Ibrahim, Ismaila Ajirerin, and Adeola Adeosun, with the investigation ongoing to ensure justice.
In a separate incident, the police arrested three suspects for robbing a farmer in Oko-Erin area. The victim, while attending to his traps in his farm, was held at gunpoint and robbed of his Infinix Note 11 mobile phone valued at #150,000:00. The swift response of the police led to the apprehension of the first suspect shortly after the incident. Further investigations identified and arrested two additional suspects, John Ndubusi Nbakogu, Toheeb Suleiman, and Bolakale Quadir (Adaka), with the recovery of a Cut-to-Size single-barrel gun believed to have been used during the operation.
The police assured the public of their commitment to exhaustively pursue the perpetrators of these crimes, emphasizing ongoing investigations to bring those responsible to justice.
