Tragedy Strikes As New Househelp Allegedly Murders Employer Just One Week In....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Tragedy unfolded in the Gbagada locality of Lagos when an unidentified woman was fatally stabbed in her residence at 29 Kiniun-Ifa Street, Sawmill, allegedly by her househelp. The incident was brought to light on Saturday, March 9, when the victim’s son discovered her lifeless body upon visiting the apartment.

The perpetrator, identified as Peter, the fleeing househelp, remains at large, and the exact timeline of the crime remains unclear. The crime scene, the victim’s residence, was found locked when Vanguard reporters arrived, with the deceased being the sole occupant of the building. Three shops were located in front of the property.

An anonymous resident revealed that upon the son’s arrival at the compound, he found his mother’s lifeless body on the staircase, accompanied by blood. A lengthy piece of wood suspected to be the murder weapon was also discovered. It was noted that the body had already started to swell, indicating that the woman might have been killed days before the discovery.

The househelp had reportedly resumed work just a week before the tragic incident. Vanguard’s information suggested that a relative of the agent who brought the househelp had been apprehended, but the agent remained elusive.

Efforts to interview the grieving son proved futile as he was too distraught to speak. The Ifako Police Division attended the scene, evacuating the victim’s corpse. DPO Owolabi Sefunmi referred the reporters to the Lagos State Police Command when approached.

Lagos State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the househelp’s arrest and disclosed that the suspect had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCIID), Panti, for further investigation. The investigation is ongoing, and the motive behind the crime remains unknown.

This tragic incident echoes a similar occurrence in the Ikeja area of Lagos a year prior, where a driver and a househelp conspired to kill a couple. The community is left grappling with the shock and sorrow surrounding this disturbing event.
