The Aliko Dangote Foundation (ADF) has commenced the distribution of more than 1,000,000 bags of 10kg rice across all 774 local governments in Nigeria, spanning Kano and Lagos. Aliko Dangote, President of the Dangote Group and Chairman of ADF, was present at the flagging-off ceremonies held in both Kano and Lagos. In Kano, where 120,000 bags were distributed, Dangote expressed his commitment to leveraging his resources to support the government in tackling poverty in Nigeria.

Allocating N15 billion for food intervention efforts nationwide, Dangote reiterated his dedication to addressing the prevalent economic challenges within the country. In Lagos, where 80,000 bags were disbursed, Dangote highlighted the significance of the food intervention program, emphasizing the foundation’s values of compassion and solidarity as essential elements of humanity.

Acknowledging the significance of compassion and generosity, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan, Dangote stressed the collective responsibility of all stakeholders in assisting the government to combat hunger. He stated, “Our distribution of rice signifies our unwavering commitment to upholding the values of compassion and solidarity, which lie at the heart of our humanity.” Spearheaded by ADF, the food intervention program is slated to operate from March to early April 2024.
