Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has urged traders and Nigerians nationwide to mirror the recent strides of the Naira against the Dollar in the pricing of goods and services throughout the country. The governor made this plea during the Combined Special Prayers for Nigeria and President Bola Tinubu, marking Easter and Ramadan festivities alongside the President’s 72nd birthday.

Hosted by the state’s Ministry of Home Affairs at the Lagos House, Ikeja, Governor Sanwo-Olu stressed the significance of demonstrating love and sacrifice, drawing inspiration from the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

He encouraged Nigerians, particularly Christians, to embody these principles in their everyday lives and engagements within the market. The governor emphasized that the strengthening of the Naira logically should translate to a reduction in the cost of living.

“This improvement must be evident in our markets. The Naira is gaining strength, and this should reflect in the cost of services,” Sanwo-Olu highlighted, stressing the imperative for price adjustments to alleviate the burden on the populace.

Additionally, The Mandate Group, a faction loyal to President Tinubu within the Lagos All Progressives Congress (APC), conducted a prayer session for the President’s well-being and the success of his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Held at No 7, Oduduwa Way, Ikeja GRA, the session saw the presence of prominent APC leaders and party loyalists, reiterating the need for spiritual backing for the President in tackling Nigeria’s economic and security issues.
