Kwara State is in mourning following the passing of former Deputy Governor, Peter Kisira, who died at the age of 74. The sad news was confirmed by the state government through a statement issued by Rafiu Ajakaye, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, in the early hours of Saturday.

Kisira served as the deputy to the immediate past governor of the state, Alhaji Abdulfattah Ahmed, during the period spanning from May 29, 2011, to May 29, 2019.

Expressing his condolences, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq conveyed his sadness at the demise of the former deputy governor. He urged the people of Baruten and Kisira’s family to find solace in his remarkable legacy as a dedicated public servant and bureaucrat, who had risen to the rank of permanent secretary in the state’s civil service.

The governor emphasized Kisira’s contributions to public service and his commitment to noble causes, stating that he would be fondly remembered for his exemplary life.

This sad development marks the end of an era for Kwara State, as it bids farewell to one of its distinguished leaders.
