Corruption Allegations: Nabena Threatens To Confront Buhari Over Disappointment....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Yekini Nabena, a prominent figure within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has not minced words about what he would convey to ex-president Muhammadu Buhari should they cross paths. In a recent interview, Nabena asserted that if confirmed, corruption cases under Buhari’s administration would prompt him to label the former president as a disappointment.
Nabena went even further, suggesting that if allegations of embezzlement during Buhari’s tenure, such as those involving the former accountant general, turned out to be true, he would advocate for Buhari to be stripped of his military General status.
These statements from Nabena come amidst ongoing controversies surrounding figures like Godwin Emefiele, the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, who faces corruption allegations from the Federal Government, led by President Bola Tinubu.
Emefiele has vehemently denied any involvement in the alleged corruption, distancing himself from the accusations laid out by the government.
Addressing the broader issue of corruption within the Buhari administration, Nabena expressed a mix of disbelief and disappointment. Should the allegations hold true, Nabena emphasized that it would severely undermine Buhari’s reputation as a leader who championed integrity and fought against corruption.
Nabena’s remarks underscore the deep concerns within the APC and Nigerian society at large regarding allegations of corruption within the government, and the expectations for leaders to uphold high ethical standards.
