During Easter celebrations in South Africa, tragedy struck as Funanani Mbedzi, a worship leader, fell victim to a fatal attack perpetrated by her husband within the confines of a church.
According to reports from South African authorities, the harrowing incident unfolded in Makonde Shadani village, located outside Thohoyandou. The assailant, identified as Mbedzi’s husband, entered the church premises around 6 pm while the congregation was engrossed in their worship, and proceeded to discharge multiple rounds of gunfire at his wife.
Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, spokesperson for the Limpopo SAPS, confirmed the distressing occurrence, stating that the perpetrator absconded from the scene following the fatal assault on his spouse.
While the motive behind this heinous act remains obscure, authorities have not ruled out the possibility of domestic violence as a contributing factor. The suspect, after eluding authorities for two days, ultimately surrendered himself to the police. It was during his apprehension that law enforcement officers seized the firearm believed to have been employed in the commission of the crime.
In a separate incident, Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has brought to light allegations against a Nigerian clergyman named Chris, accusing him of failing to settle a N25 million debt owed to her.
Ogala took to her Instagram account to divulge the details, accompanied by a photograph of Chris. According to her statement, someone entrusted Chris with N35 million to deliver to her, but he purportedly claimed that only N15 million had been remitted. Consequently, she received only a fraction of the intended sum, with the remainder allegedly pocketed by Chris.
Expressing her frustration, Ogala emphasized her demand for the outstanding balance of N25 million. However, instead of cooperation, she claims to have faced threats and coercion from Chris, who purportedly exploited his religious stature to intimidate her into silence.
Asserting her rights, Ogala declared her intent to reclaim what she rightfully earned, undeterred by the purported repercussions threatened by Chris. She adamantly insisted on receiving her due payment, decrying any attempts to suppress her voice or manipulate the situation to his advantage.
