In Kiplombe, Baringo County, Kenya, a tragic incident unfolded as a police officer was reportedly stabbed to death by his wife. Baringo Police Commander, Julius Kiragu, confirmed the unfortunate event, revealing that Officer Vincent Kipterim Kiprotich, 28, who served with the Critical Infrastructure Protection Unit (CIPU) in Mandera County, was on leave at the time of the incident.

According to Kiragu, Kipterim returned home around 3 am on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, and was allegedly attacked with a machete by his wife, ZamZam Bashir, 26. Subsequently, Bashir sought help from the deceased’s brother, reporting the dire situation.

Describing the incident, Kiragu stated, “The officer was on leave, he arrived home late, and an altercation ensued, resulting in the tragic stabbing by his wife. Despite being rushed to Eldama Ravine Sub County Hospital, he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.”

Following the incident, authorities promptly apprehended the woman, initiating investigations into the circumstances surrounding the tragedy. Meanwhile, the deceased’s body has been transported to Eldama Ravine Morgue, awaiting further examination through a postmortem procedure.
