This development has prompted intensified discussions between the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), the Nigeria Police Force, and the Kenyan Police Service to expedite Anjarwalla’s extradition.

Sources within the Presidency familiar with the situation informed Saturday PUNCH that Anjarwalla, now exposed, went into hiding immediately upon arrival in Kenya.

“We have located him. He is in Kenya, and we’re collaborating with authorities to bring him back to Nigeria,” one source disclosed.

Another source corroborated this statement, emphasizing the joint efforts of the government and security agencies with Kenyan authorities and INTERPOL to ensure Anjarwalla’s return to Nigeria to face charges against him.

EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede, in the agency’s March bulletin, affirmed the collaboration with INTERPOL, the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the governments of the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland, and Kenya to extradite Anjarwalla.

Olukoyede highlighted the commission’s pursuit of Binance Holdings Limited executives for alleged tax evasion, currency speculation, and money laundering amounting to $35.4 million.

It was previously reported that the FG initiated Anjarwalla’s extradition over alleged money laundering.

Additionally, security forces, including the military, Department of State Services, Police, EFCC, and National Intelligence Agency, are investigating soldiers assigned to monitor Anjarwalla, detained in relation to the case.

EFCC had earlier arraigned Binance Holdings Limited and its executives, with Gambaryan currently in EFCC custody, and Anjarwalla facing charges in absentia.

Efforts are underway to collaborate with international agencies and the Kenyan government to arrest and extradite Anjarwalla, who fled custody in Nigeria.
