Ugochinyere Blasts PDP Governors And Leaders Over Wike’s Attendance At Caucus Meeting

A member of the House of Representatives representing the Ideato North and South Federal Constituency of Imo State, Ikenga Ugochinyere, has strongly criticized the National Caucus of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and governors elected under the party’s banner for permitting a current official of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to participate in their private meeting.

Ugochinyere lambasted the PDP, expressing disbelief at its apparent weakness in allowing someone actively campaigning for the APC to disrupt its proceedings, particularly when the party aims to seize power in 2027.

The lawmaker articulated his discontent through a post on his social media handle on Thursday, highlighting the concerning incident.

In his statement, he questioned the situation, emphasizing the apparent helplessness of PDP governors and National Caucus members who failed to intervene as a serving APC government official gained access to their closed-door caucus gathering in Abuja.

He pondered the paradox of a party aspiring to take control of governance in 2027 yet permitting individuals aligned with opposing ideologies to influence its internal affairs.

These remarks emerged following reports that a former governor of Rivers State, currently serving as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), was present at the PDP’s caucus meeting preceding the National Executive Council (NEC) session scheduled for today.

It’s notable that the former Rivers governor, who previously led a faction of governors opposing the PDP’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in the previous presidential election, attended the said gathering.
