In a statement relayed by Mati Ali, Personal Assistant for Media and Publicity to the Minister, the pressing issues highlighted encompassed inadequate healthcare facilities and limited access to clean water. Minister Abubakar underscored the necessity for collaborative endeavors among all stakeholders to alleviate the plight of border community residents.

He asserted, “Government remains resolute in its commitment to ameliorating the welfare of inhabitants in these border regions.” Moreover, he advocated for the formulation of a comprehensive strategic master plan, inclusive of representatives from international bodies, non-governmental organizations, legislative assemblies, state governors, local government leaders, entrepreneurs, and other influential societal figures.

“The blueprint should serve as a catalyst for mobilizing resources to fund various projects, rather than solely relying on federal budgetary allocations,” he emphasized. Drawing from personal experience as both a native of a border state and a former governor of Jigawa State, Abubakar empathized with the challenges faced by border communities and pledged unwavering support for viable initiatives aimed at redressing these issues.
